Shopping is driving me mad

I cannot find half of what I want and I cannot read half of what is available. On a brighter note, today we visited the local farmer's market- which is not the quaint type you're probably imagining but rather a bunch of rather grumping individuals beneath tarps strung up in the small square created where two very busy streets meet. I saw some interesting and unfamiliar fruits and we bought some. Petr said they were "churma" which, of course, means about as much to me as I'm sure it does to you. After searching online a bit, I finally found that what we had bought was persimmon, which I'd heard about before but had no concept of the appearance or taste of such a fruit. I'm not even sure I was aware that persimmon was a fruit. Anyways, they're pretty good- kinda mushy, with a texture between tomatoes and canned peaches and they taste sort of like pears but more exotic. Apparently they are widely popular in Asia and Indiana (yeah, Indiana, where they make a persimmon pudding) and if you eat too much you can develop a diospyrobezoar. That sounds pretty awful, so I looked it up and learned about bezoars in the process. I'm passing on this bizarre information to you now. And I'd like a bezoar necklace for Christmas.
